Is Siding Guard Guaranteed to stop the burning of my siding?
Over 80,000 sqft of Siding Guard has been installed with the sole purpose of protecting vinyl siding from damaging window reflection and in every single case, the problem was completely solved. There has not been a single instance to our knowledge where Siding Guard was less than 100% effective.
Will regular window tint work?
Absolutely not. The vinyl siding is melting because of the sun's rays reflecting off of the exterior of the glass which means any solution must be installed on the outside.
Traditional window films, even if applied to the exterior will actually increase the intensity of the reflection. A dark black tint, applied to the outside of the glass will possibly help with the reflection by absorbing the sun's energy however you will almost certainly crack the glass due to how hot it will get.
Siding Guard is 100% guaranteed to solve the melting of vinyl siding from your windows reflections.
Siding Guard Clear guaranteed safe on all types of windows.
Will I be able to see outside?
Yes ... the view out will be similar to a window with a bug screen.

Does Siding Guard go on the interior or exterior of the window?
Exterior - the problem being solved is the light bouncing off of the glass and burning your vinyl siding therefore the only solution is an exterior application. Anything applied on the inside of the glass will not effect the reflection on the outside of the glass
How do I know how much I’ll need?
Start by measuring the windows you’ll be applying it to. Measure the width and height of the glass.
Once you have all of the measurements, you’ll want to determine how you’ll make your cuts. Siding Guard is available in a width of 54” x a length of as much as 100 feet.
You’ll want to arrange your cuts to make the most of the material and minimize waste.
For example: if you have two windows - one being 24” x 48” and the other 28” x 48”, both windows can be cut out from 48” of the material, since it its 54” wide … and the width of the two window total 52”
We suggest adding 1 inch in each direction to your measurements. This allows room for error and cutting during your installation. The slight overlap will allow you to cut the film to the edge of your glass, custom fitting your window.
When will my order be shipped?
We handover the rolls to USPS in 1-3 days depending on the number of orders we have in the queue. After that it usually takes 2-4 days for USPS to deliver the roll to your address. Generally -depending on your location- you should be able to receive the roll in 3 to 7 days.
How much does the shipping cost?
Shipping is FREE for all orders from USA and Canada. For other countries the shipping fee will be calculated at checkout.
Why does my tracking page looks stuck at "pre-shipment"?
For some orders USPS tracking page may get stuck at pre-shipment status even though your package is on transit. There is no need to be concerned if the tracking page still shows pre-shipment after 3 days. For some cases, signing up for text and email updates on your tracking page can trigger the tracking page to update.
Can I install Siding Guard myself?
Absolutely. Siding Guard is a perforated film, which means it has holes in it much like a bug screen. The holes allow for partial visibility out and also make for an easy installation as air is unlikely to be trapped, like it can be in traditional window film.
What will I need for installation?
You’ll only need to supply water and paper towels to clean the window before installation. A squeegee, utility knife, and instructions are provided.
How long does it last?
Siding Guard is a very durable film that is built to endure harsh exterior conditions. It will last as much as 5-6 years - most likely more.
How to clean windows with Siding Guard installed?
You can keep cleaning your windows just like how you did before installing the film. Just keep in mind that abrasive materials and cleaners that include ammonia can damage window films.
Some of my windows have bug screens, do i need to install under the screens too?
Bug screens are not typically reflective and you can choose to only install Siding Guard on the windows that doesn't have screens on. However if you are only keeping the screens to avoid reflection, we advise to consider replacing them with Siding Guard window film. Siding Guard is more durable, easier to clean and more decorative than bug screens. Also you can install Siding Guard yourself without any professional help.
What are the specs of Siding Guard?
Siding Guard does not claim to have heat rejection features therefore does not have window film specs.
Do you have installation service?
No we only sell Siding Guard as a Do-It-Yourself solution. Siding Guard has self-adhesive and since it is perforated (it has holes on it) you won't have trouble with bubbles like you might when installing a regular window film.

I installed Siding Guard on my windows but I still get reflection and my vinyl siding feels hot. Is it not working?
No, it is working exactly as expected. Siding Guard does not eliminate the reflection completely. It is physically impossible to reduce the reflection to zero while maintaining visibility through the glass. Even if you cover the glass with a 100% opaque film, it would still reflect traces of solar light.
However with Siding Guard, the amount of solar energy reflected from your glass is reduced to a point where it is not strong enough to damage your vinyl siding. When you touch the vinyl siding with your hand it would still feel warm even hot. But it will no longer get hot enough to cause any damage or discoloration.
Does Siding Guard help block out people from seeing inside the house?
Yes, it does have a slight privacy effect though it is a clear film so it is very slight
How can I remove Siding Guard from my windows?
Removal of Siding Guard is similar to a typical window film. Simply peel off the film and clean the residue with soapy water and a cloth.
